Building Train

Building Train strives to identify decision makers, local leaders and clan leaders, with an emphasis on identifying the needs and desire of women.

Building Train provides volunteers with an extraordinary experience: travel, cultural exchange, visiting a country as a participant, an insider, not a tourist viewing a foreign culture.

Training for Volunteers
Building Train provides cultural orientation for volunteers, highlighting cultural differences, language issues and local taboos.

Building Train uses classroom teaching and role-playing to train volunteers, not just printed materials and on-line courses which may or may not be absorbed prior to arriving.

Religious Affiliation
The Building Train is not affiliated with any religion or spiritual order.

Planning and Following up
Building Train focuses a majority of their efforts on planning, follow-up and promotion.

Each village has its own organization and politics. Perhaps the Chief or Mayor has a completely different agenda from the residents. Perhaps the Chief or Mayor was appointed by a central governor and has no local ties or clan affiliation. Perhaps the Chief is elected by a clan, class or religion which is in power but does not represent the majority of the population or the segment of society with the greatest need.

The Building Train strives to placate the centers of power but cater to the greatest need.

Particular attention is paid to the needs and desires identified by the women of the community.
